The Bund

The Bund is a prominent waterfront area that runs along Zhongshan Road. The famous street is home to some of the fabulous architecture in the world.

You can also view The Bund by taking a cruise on the Huangpu River. As you wind your way down the river, you will see impressive towers and unique architecture.

Oriental Pearl TV Tower

Opposite The Bund sits the Oriental Pearl Tower. The famous building attracts more than three million visitors a year.

The tower, supported by three enormous underground structures, features five spheres, three observatory levels, a revolving restaurant, exhibition facilities and a shopping mall.

Yu Garden

The majestic 20,000 sqm Yu Garden was built over 400 years ago during the Ming Dynasty.

Visitors to the garden will find pavilions, rockeries, cloisters and impressive halls, including the Sansui Hall, Dianchun Hall and Yuhua Hall.

Century Park

Century Park is the largest eco-city park in Shanghai. It is situated right across Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai and the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is located nearby. It covers an area of 140.3 hectares and its landscaping combines British, Japanese and Chinese gardening styles.

With large areas of grassland, forests and lakes among its main features, there are scenic spots like islands, country gardens and grasslands.

Shanghai Historic Exhibition Museum

This modern museum is located at the base of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. The museum was designed by renowned Shanghai architect Xing Tonghe.

Over 120,000 artefacts can be found at the museum, including bronze, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, sculptures, furnitures, coins and stone from ancient times.

Shanghai Science and Technology Museum

Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is a popular museum in Pudong, Shanghai, close to Century Park.

The museum has an IMAX theatre, and 12 main exhibits, including "Spectrum of Life", "World of Robots" and "Information Era".

Tian Zi Fang/Tai Kang Lu

Another of the city's visited tourist destination, Tian Zi Fang offers a hodge-podge of cafes, bars, restaurants, boutiques, curios and galleries.

Moganshan art district

This former industrial area is now home to numerous art galleries and cafes.

South Bund Fabric Market

This fabric market has all of Shanghai’s best tailors under one roof. Wade through the mountains of fabric for a design of your own creation or for the numerous samples provided. Bargain hard to get a fair price.

French Concession

It covers the Xuhui District and Luwan District, occupying the center, south and west of urban Shanghai. Its tree-lined avenues and their many Tudor mansions still retain an air of the "Paris of the East". The area is clotted with cool cafes, fabulous restaurants, bars and boutiques.

Shanghai presents an impressive wealth of shopping options, from the large malls to small boutiques, from ancient shops to modern department stores.

Shopping streets include: 

  • Huaihai Road
  • Pedestrian-only Nanjing Road, with over 600 old and new shops
  • Cultural Street on Fuzhou Road
  • Curio Street on Dongtai Road 

Visitors looking for a modern shopping experience can visit Xuijahui Commercial City. The shopping complex houses various department stores across an immense space of 1.2 sq km.

As Kerry Hotel is located inside the Kerry Parkside, guests can enjoy shopping at the exciting 45,000 sqm, three-level retail mall.

New Xiang Yang Road Market

Located close to Century Park, in the basement of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is the New Xiang Yang Road market. This is a great local market to visit if you are shopping for clothes, bags, souvenirs and Chinese-style items.
